Ok, so in April, all three of my high school choirs are going to Anaheim to compete. We compete on friday morning and get the whole day saturday to run around Disneyland by ourselves. Also on friday night, we get to go where ever we want which pretty much means visiting downtown Disney...
Since i'm going with no parents, its a like nerveracking to know how to handle money. On a regualr basis, i could spent like 15-20 dollars AT SCHOOL.
so do you know any tips on how i can try to not spend alot of money while im at disneyland w/o parents? oh and please feel free to leave any tips about how to make a trip at disneyland with friends memorable!!!Disneyland advice for teenagers?
When I was in high school band we went to Disneyland three times, at least one time with the choir. It was a LOT of fun!
The first time I went, I did not budget my money. After dinner, I was left with less than $2 for the ride home. Fortunately, we stopped at a big truck stop where I was able to buy an economical meal at Taco Bell.
I'm sure you are aware that food at Disneyland is very expensive! Food in Downtown Disney is probably even more expensive. I hope money is not severely limited for you! If I were you, I would bring $30 for dinner on Friday, and at least $40 for food at Disneyland. Plus $5-$10 for each meal on the road. When you go to Disneyland with your friends, you will see a LOT of cute stuff you want to buy. Make sure you keep in mind how much money you need for your meals. If it's Saturday afternoon, and you only have $25 left, you should probably not buy any more stuff and save the rest of your money for food.
No matter what, you will have a blast. Bring a camera to take lots of pictures. And if you are going with a large group, there might be a lot of people in the hotel pool. If that is the case, you may actually want to stay out of the pool! The first year I went, there were a lot of people in the pool, and the next day at Disneyland, a lot of people (including me) got bad stomach problems.
When you get there, write down your friends' hotel room numbers. You can call them for free on the hotel phones.
I disagree that you should bring less money (unless you cannot afford to spend a lot on this trip). A meal at Disneyland can easily cost upward of $10. A cold drink will set you back at least $3, maybe more. As a student, you will probably not be allowed to leave Disneyland to find cheaper food. There isn't an easy way to eat cheap there. The only advice I have for sticking to a strict budget is to avoid snacks that don't fill you up - churros, Dole pineapple sticks, pickles, candy. And hopefully you can eat some kind of free breakfast at your hotel, so take advantage of it.Disneyland advice for teenagers?
Well, I think the best way to not spend too much is to not bother bringing too much money. :)
Only bring what you'll need.
Oh, and a good way to make it memorable would be riding that ';It's a small World'; ride, with your arms up, and screaming the entire time. I did for the that whole (what seemed to be) 20 minutes, and I got the biggest laughs out of my family, and even the people riding behind us.
Dont bring too much each day, that way you wont be temted to spend much.
