Need advice for redecorating teenager's room?

i really need to redecorate my room, it's horrible! nothing really matches. i've got light blue, lavender %26amp; gold painted walls, green bedstead, dark brown dresser, yellow gold desk %26amp; flower patterned curtains. i was into the flower theme when i was 10, but now i'm 13 %26amp; need a ';teenager'; room.

It depend what color you like. For example your favorite color(s). It also depends what style you like, there are many colors and styles. you could go for a more traditonal and grown up style or a more';teenager'; room with bright colors. You could use different shades of brown on your walls, for example put a dark, chocolaty brown on the wall then light brown applied with a decorative sponge,and just use neutral colors, because neutrals go with almost anything. or if you like bright colors, you could do hot pink and lime green squares on your walls. put the yellow desk where the gold paint is, put the green are bedstead near the light blue, put the brown dresser near the lavender paint. The colors you have are kind of like rockish and so get some posters and get new curtains. your friends may impressed and also we you move things around and actually have a team with colors that are different and friends ask,';So what the new theme.'; Say,'; It's all the colors of my favorite bands and other bands I like. . the posters will show part of the answer.

haha wow. sounds like an interesting room. well im 13 and i wouldnt say i have a teenager room. if i were you, i would want to repaint with somehting that i'll never grow out of. something simple. not something so ';theme-y';. last summer, my family and i painted our house and for my room, we used a ';faux'; style. i did it with colors that i liked and my room looked great ! i'd say there wasnt really a pattern though. it was mostly a base, then i did random ';X's'; with another color, and i went over it with a kind of paint (sorry i 4got what its called). i also convinced my mom to buy me new furniture. after the paint job, my room looked brighter and stuff. it really depends on what you like. i would go with somehting that makes you feel and look more mature. i hope this helps! good luck redecorating:]
