I am 5'2 and weigh 143 pounds.I use to weight 110 pounds but have gain a lot of weight in the last year. I would like to go back to been 110 but for now my goal is 25 pounds.I cannot reallly go running or walking so that is not much of a option.I may can go the gym every once in a while. What advice would you give to a teenager trying to lose 25 pounds?
just stay active, you can walk, you can take the stairs instead of the elevator and other stuff like that, cut back on what you eat, and make what you eat smarter, like whole grains and granola bars, and no twinkis and doughnuts . also go to the gym for a SOLID three to four weeks at least 5-6 times a week. after that you can cut back but you gotta get in the cycle before you cut back,What advice would you give to a teenager trying to lose 25 pounds?
I know it's hard, especially if you have to leave the house. Try what I did, turn on the MUSIC and dance (alone and no-one watching) Dance for at least 5 minutes a day, that's one song. It doesn't matter how you move, just get your body going any old how. wiggle, jiggle get that heart pumping. Do it every day and watch that ice-cream. (I had to quit it.)
I gave up soda, milk and started bicycling to lose 25 pounds...and I am past the ';middle age metabolism'; stage where losing weight is even harder.
Good luck!
put down the big mac
cocaine, ecstacy, jenny craig. but on a serious point eat more fruits and veggies walk a mile everyday
Sorry to hear you can't go running or walking? The healthiest way to lose wieght, and the most efficient is to cut junk food, pop, fast food, etc. out of your diet immedietly, while working out. Maybe go to Best Buy and get a pilates workout and just do it for 15-30 minutes a day. If you don't cheat it works like a miracle.
I also used to be fat. I am 5'6'; and used to weigh almost 140 pounds. That time, I hate looking at the mirror until I leaarned the ';after-six'; diet. I do not eat anything after 6:00 pm. I eat complete meals - breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner before 6:00 pm. Also, avoid eating fatty food and too much sugar. There are always alternative. Substitute regular Coke with Coke light. If you love to eat pork, chicken, beef, try to prepare them with no or less oil. I avoid eating fried food. Walk as often as you can.. at home, in the office, at the shopping mall. When I was about to deliver my baby, I weigh 138 pounds and I was not fat. Two months after giving birth,my weight is 125 pounds, just 5 pounds more from my target weight.
Water, water, water!! This will help you feel full..I'd also cut out all soda and ALL the other thing that you know is BAD for you! I'd start eating a lot of veggies and fruit, I'd also start taking a multi vitamin. I think if you want ';quick'; results you need to exercise at least 3 days a week for NO LESS than 30 min! Losing weight is not an easy task it requires hard work and real dedication!!! Stay focused and I KNOW you can do it !!!!!!Peace.......
i lost 30 lbs 2 years ago. What i did was Low Carb. i know, it sounds not fun, but now there are a lot of really great options for people wanting a low carb diet! just try to eat more meats and veggies or salads with a low calorie or light dressing! but exercise is a must! you have to burn some of the calories that you eat because that's the only way you'll lose weight! and you MUST drink a buttload of water. If you're not drinking enough water, then your fat cells will be swollen, but if you're drinking a lot of water, they will get flushed out! a good way of knowing if you're drinking enough is your pee should not be yellow at all. hope i helped!
Cut back on carbs, eat lean meat, beans, veggies, fruits. Don't eat sugar or processed foods and nothing fried. No soda or candy. This is the healthy way. Aerobics and weight lifting would be very beneficial also.
Don't eat so much.. simple really. 3,500 calories = one pound of body weight. Look at the calores of what you eat and CUT DOWN!
eat breakfast.
drink LOTS of water.
No sweets
eat off smaller dishes so less looks like more.
CHEW YOUR FOOD.
wait at least 30 seconds before the next mothfull.
CHEW YOUR FOOD.
girl, what happened in the last year that made you gain all that weight? It sounds like you are going to need some emotional support to do this. Something made you gain weight so fast, and the problem is probably still in your life. So I would go with weight watchers or Jenny Craig, or some program that has group support. It takes a lot of will power and determination to take weight off, but you are too young to let yourself get fat. These are the best years of your life!
eat fruits and vegies
don't develop a disorder
