bring in high school drop outs to talk to themPlease give me advice for teaching teenagers....(I麓ve posted this question before)?
If there is any way you can get digital learning devices like games for them to learn on , I have found that for some reason it keeps them quite to see if they can work it or do the things on them. Hope this helps a little.
hmm, first of all i dont see how teachers do it. they have one of the hardest jobs in the world. especially teens.
since you have only 1 table try having them each bring a pillow or you could have them make one while learning english at the same time.maybe sew cloth together that have words or something like that on the material. then you could separate them in corners of the room using the pillows to set on and learn.
thanks for being a teacher
Try some positive rewards. Feel them out, find out their interests and likes. Then reward good behavior.
Also depending on the cultural background of your students it amy be very normal for them to talk with each other. Certain cultures are much more social than ours. They value collective thought and decisions over individuality. You may want to change your curriculum to involve more group work.
do something to get their attention. boring teachers won't actually TEACH you anything.
you could try to give them rewards
or you could tell them your disappointed in them kids hate when they disappoint a teacher or the teacher doesn't believe in them
you have to be really firm, be a very strong leader- show them you won't be afraid to get angry when they don't listen to you....try to get them to respect you..because they just don't care right now......so have respect for them, and demand it in return..also show that they can trust you
