What are the three pieces of advice you would give to your teenager ???

I would stress the importance of school, and activities such as sports clubs and prom. Thoose are things i regret not having done most in high school.

I would tell them that your are lucky if you come out of this life with one good friend, and blessed if you have two. Durring teenage yrs. friendships seem to be the most important thing in life, they cause the most drama, and give rise to many tears. The people that they know today, will most likely be forgotten tomorrow. Or well not tomorrow but come a few years.

And most importantly always be yourself, if you try to fit in and get caught up in the politics of school you will eventually lose yourself. But if you find your path early in life the future you want is easier to obtain.

I would teach my child to work for all that they have for no one truly appreciates that which is given to them.

I would teach my child that hate breeds hate, and kindness breeds kindness. To love and lose is better to have never loved at all.

JUST REMEMBER: no matter what you teach your children no matter how hard you press them to do something they need to make their own mistakes before they will truly understand the lesson and apply it to future endevours.

Teach moderation.... kids are gonna drink teach how to drink responsibly, even if you dont want them to they will but give them the foreknowledge that you will always be there, and not to be afraid to ask for help.

Teach that you are a parent first, and a friend later.

Teach that you will love them no matter how much they do wrong.

Allow some mistakes then offer advice and a shoulder to cry on.

Live and let live.

good luckWhat are the three pieces of advice you would give to your teenager ???
Great question! I will have a teenager in just a couple of short years. I hope that I will have equipped him with more than 3 pieces of advice. Here are three thoughts that come readily to mind:

1) In life there is what is right, what is legal, and what happens in the real world. These are three very different things. Aspire to what is right, respect what is legal, and be keenly aware of how things work in the real world.

2) This one actually comes from a movie called ';Second Hand Lions';. For those who have seen the movie it is straight out of his ';What every boy needs to know to become a man speech';. In life there are things that are worth believing in, not because they're right, not because they're true, but because they are worth believing in. These are things like ';good always triumphs over evil'; and ';Love conquers all';. The point is it doesn't matter if you can prove they are true, what is important is your faith that they are.

3) Live! Revel in your mind and body and the gift of your existence in this world of matter and linear time. What are the three pieces of advice you would give to your teenager ???
