Im thinking about ringing up a place, do i mention my age because they could think i was older and get the wrong idea. What do you suggest i say when ringing ?? thankyouYoung teenager job advice?
I know how your feeling, I've gone into loads of places that I've wanted to work at and they've turned me down! You don't need to directly tell them your age, just kind of say ''hi, I'm looking for a job at your place, can you tell me how old I have to be to work there'' sort of thing. But obviously say it in a much more professional manner, as if you are older than 14.
Hope I helped!! (:Young teenager job advice?
This website http://www.better-living-ideas.com/jobs-鈥?/a> gives information on what the laws are about teenagers working in Australia, so you might want to have a look at that first, just to check that you would definitely be allowed to do the job that you want to do (it's quite a way down the page so you'll need to scroll down). It seems to mention quite a lot about needing a permit, so you might want to see if you can get that organised before you start contacting places, else they might just tell you to go away and come back when you have a permit!
It's definitely a good idea to ring up and let them know how old you are (although most application forms have a section where they ask your date of birth anyway, so they should already know this!). If you have seen an advert for a job you're interested in I'd advise phoning, saying that you're interested in applying for the job, but that you're 14 years old and just wanted to check whether or not there are any age restrictions on the position before you apply.
They might say that you're too young, but it's better to know that before you've gone to the trouble of filling out all the application forms etc than after, and phoning rather than just applying anyway shows that you have a mature approach to things, regardless of your age. If places turn you down, don't give up! You're sure to find a job sooner or later, you just need to persevere.
Hope this helps.

Most places won't hire you until you're 15, but it wouldn't hurt ringing around to try to find somewhere that will hire you. When I was 14 I got a job at Red Rooster. Most fast food places will hire 14 year olds, and honestly they're not as bad to work at as everyone thinks. You're not going to have many options, but good luck anyway.
