Why will teenagers take advice from complete strangers, but not their parents?

Well if I refresh the page, their not complete strangers.

Then Ive seen them before!

My mom is either in a bad mood or at work, and Im not on speaking terms with my dad.

=]Why will teenagers take advice from complete strangers, but not their parents?
ok so i am a complete stranger and have you asked your parents this question. if you have then your answer is you have a good home life and your parents are cool. if you didn't ask your parents this then i think you know the answer to that. well actually you or anyone just finds the thrill in talking to someone they have absolutely no idea who they're talking to.Why will teenagers take advice from complete strangers, but not their parents?
Because they see strangers as an unbiased source.

Strangers don't know your mom said no movies on the weekend because you backtalked.

Strangers can give real encouragement because they don't know you.

They just know what you tell them. And sometimes it is just easier to tell a stranger the truth, that applies to us all.
maybe because the advice a stranger is giving them is more beneficial then what their parents might offer them because its coming from diverse perspectives well as if it was just their parents its their parents views.

Though some take advice from both
because they are afraid to talk to them..my parents never talked to me about anything.. i dont have a problem with it. but i know that when my son starts becoming a young man we as a family will be talking together!!!
i think they probably feel uncomfortable and akward around our parents. its easier to talk to someone that you dont even know.
Must just be the teens you know. I took my parents advice.
uhh cause its our parents ew.

lmfao well i take advice from my dad... hes really cool.
I don't do that...
who says they dont....but some people would rather ask stuff on here than ask there parents
i still do that and im a mum of 3
who ever said teens dont take advice from their parents?
